Kahoko Yamada is a Japanese-American author of young adult novels. Her first novel, "The Summer I Turned Pretty", was published in 2006 and was her first book to be translated into English. Her other novels include "The Truth About Forever", "Mean Girls", "Mean Girls 2", and "The Beautiful Life". She has also written books for children, such as "I'm Not Perfect but I'm Perfect For You" and the award-winning novel, "A Year and a Day"
She has also contributed to numerous other children's books. She currently lives in Tokyo.
